The village of Monolithos is situated on the eastern coast of the island, 2 km north of Kamari and 9 km from the capital of Fira. Its position provides a magnificent view and it has the finest sand you can ever find on Santorini.

The beach of Monolithos, just after the beach of Exo Gialos, we find it in the eastern part of the island of Santorini about 2 km north of the lively resort of Kamari which also hosts a beautiful beach.

A flat beach of small pebbles and black volcanic sand among the finest that you can find in Santorini, bathed by a calm sea with clean, crystalline waters and colors that go from turquoise to intense blue, depths that gradually slope down perfect for families with children where the little ones can play safely and also ideal for lovers of long swims.

Behind it, spectacular rock formations are sculpted by the wind and saltiness as guardians watch over the sea. Its name owes it to a large rock on which the picturesque church of Agios Ioannis was built to visit if you are at the beach of Monolithos.

Unlike the nearby Kamari beach, Monolithos beach is much quieter, less crowded, and much loved, especially by local families.
